This is required do business in the City of Philadelphia. Go to 1615 JFK Boulevard Basement Level, Philaldelphia PA. 3. DBA. If you are not using your last name in the title of your business you will have to obtain a Fictitious Name Statement or DBA (Doing Busines As). You obtain this from the State of Pennsylvania. 4. Incorporate. If you decide to be a Corporation or Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) you have to file for incorporation with the State. 5. Open a Business Bank Account. Take advantage of benefits such as mac card, online bill pay, pay roll and credit card services. You can't do it all yourself, trust me, I've tried! 6. Sign up for Payroll. It's easier than doing it yourself.Some banks provide this service or you can use a seperate payroll company. Pay yourself and have taxes taken out. (Consult an Accountant). You can also use the pay stubs for welfare and subsidized child care as proof of employment. 7. Sign up for a Free EmaiL account. You'll need an email account(s) when signing up for access to web sites, making payments etc. Get two, one Business, the other personal.
